Conti fired one shot without aim, and then another, before he cried out in frustration and continuously let off more shots. It worked to their advantage and disadvantage -- he would run out soon and would not be able to reload efficiently, but he was now unpredictable. They had to move fast.
A bullet struck the soft part of her armor, near the joints, and she fell to one knee. She gritted her teeth and hissed through the pain as quietly as she could so that she could not betray her location to him; if he was smart, he would rely on his hearing for where Siana and Monaco were, and though Siana did not credit him that far she also knew better than to underestimate her opponents. So she fought through the pain and continued forward towards Conti, limping all the while, and flipped her sword so that when she struck him, it would be with the blunt side.
Finally, she was in sword's arm's reach, and Conti seemed to know it. He turned his gun upon her, though he aimed at her well-armored chest, but even so, any worry or attempt was moot; the gun clicked. Without hesitation, and with a sudden change of tactic, she struck him behind his head with the hilt of her sword instead.
