From behind the warriors, Peony spotted the constructs approaching. Experimentally, she prepared and fired off a Thunder spell. Often, the circuits of mechanical constructs could be overwhelmed with an application of electricity. But... the spell disappeared into the construct as though it had never been. Quickly, she attempted Water - the opposite end of the elemental spectrum - and watched the construct shudder.
"Step back on my word," she told the officers, beginning to chant. As much water as she intended to call would certainly damage the walls, but at least it wasn't Quake. The house would stand. "Now!" At the end of the chant, she released Waterga. Water filled the hall; when it receded, the one construct rose jerkily from the floor, clearly damaged, but the others still floated there, seemingly unscathed.
It seemed she would need to experiment until she found the key to each one. "Take the one that is damaged; I will work on the rest." Fire. Thunder. Aero. Another drone shuddered as if damaged. Aerora; things went flying off the walls as the drone fell, rose again.
A puzzle, but - as she watched the nearest drone lash out with some sort of sparking extension at Monaco - one that needed to be solved quickly. Something was very wrong in this house. She redoubled her efforts.
