None of those were particularly light, at least not in Nate's experience, but he hadn't done much pure forge work since... well, he hadn't done any in a while. "Would you want to have full plate covering, or just an exoskeleton of struts? Because that might help with the weight, and avoid cooking the wearer if the metal starts catching the heat..." It'd be like standing inside a human-shaped cooking pot.
"Did you have an idea?" He'd mostly just been suggesting possible problems with the idea of one-pad-per-foot. "I mean, having the boots separately lifted is always gonna make balance harder, but it lends a lot of maneuverability if you can work that problem out."
"So, suspend the lift pads below the boot, with air channels in between for cooling?" Nate thought about it, turning the shape over in his head. "That could work."
