"I'm sure you'll do great," Amy offered, not wanting to offend the girl, nor press the issue further. It must be though for her, to have everyone always worrying about her well-being like she was a little child who couldn't take care of herself. Amy was sure they didn't mean anything bad by it, but after a while, it must get annoying.
"Interesting, no," she shook her head, willing to change the topic. "Although, I've been thinking about hiring another librarian. I have Callista, of course," she mused, thinking about the girl who was now left in the shop, dealing with any possible customers while Amy was here with Quen, "but a second one couldn't hurt, right?"
She let out a barely audible sigh. When her parents had left the bookshop to her care a few years ago, at first she wanted to hear nothing about hiring anyone to help her. She so desperately wanted to do this right, wanted to do this herself, alone, and for a while it worked. In the wake of the tragedy that was losing her brother and the woman she loved, Amy welcomed the distraction the Lux & Livre provided. But months passed and her wounds began to heal, and after a short while, she had to realize that she couldn't do all this by herself. That's when she hired Callista, who's been a huge help ever since.
