Peony had brothers? Why hadn't she known before? As soon as the questions rolled in, so did the guilt. They were friends, yes, but it didn't mean Peony had to tell her everything. No one was privy to every detail of a friend's life. After all, wasn't it good to still be surprised in a friendship, as long as nothing of great importance was withheld. Ridley wondered what they were like, her brothers. Kind and polite like her? Mages, too? (No, she would have spotted them in the tower.) She supposed she'd find out.
"I would like that," she offered in return, absently trying to quell all such curious thoughts of her friend's family. The cakes looked all the more mouth-watering up close, but most food did, and only within close proximity to the cake did she truly realize her hunger. The scholar touched a knuckle to the tip of her own nose, trying to hide the small smile.
"Then I'm happy to do you a favour."
