"That's not nice," he said, leaning his head to the side so she could nuzzle his neck better. "Tell him he should be nice to you." He listened as she told him a little more and smiled when she giggled. He remembered how tall it was and shook his head. "Good thing he doesn't," he agreed.
At her look, he shrugged. He still wasn't sure if this was something he should mention to Aspel, at least. Big monsters that do what their masters tell them could be a problem if put in the wrong hands. At least Ari wasn't planning on destroying the city with it; he couldn't say the same for whoever had impressed the sea serpent. "I wouldn't," he assured her, leaning forward and kissing her lightly on the lips.
After a moment, he yawned. "What do you say we call it a night?"
