"If you want to, I would not be opposed," she told him. She didn't really enjoy sleeping alone; it was always better to have someone warm to snuggle up to. Drake's presence could only improve her sleep.
When he mentioned her instrument, though, she sighed. "It's gone," she said sadly. "There was no salvaging it after... that." And the loss still stung. She thought of Aspel's strange request for the small metal bits and trappings of the instrument. She had given them to her, of course - why not? - but could not yet puzzle out the meaning behind the offer.
And then, of course, there was the other problem. Her brief network conversations with Merrion and Aspel between acts this evening had cemented it. "The... water dragon," she said quietly. "The one we fought. I... believe you may yet see him again." Aspel already knew, of course - she must - but she had promised to speak to Drake, and he had been patient. "I suspect it is... rather like my... fiery friend whom you met briefly at the docks."
