"A little overwhelmed," she admitted after taking a moment to consider her response. "My life has been... a bit more adventurous than anticipated these last few months." And that was definitely an understatement if she'd ever made one.
She shifted her weight, turning to face him and sprawling across his chest, her arms looped loosely around his neck. "You're worrying too much," she said, placing a kiss on his chin before settling her head down in the crook of his neck and shoulder again. "You didn't do that so much before," she mumbled against his skin, her words nearly indiscernible. Then, louder, "Anything I can do to help?" Not an offer she made lightly, or to many people, but she thought he deserved it for his patience, even if he probably wouldn't take her up on it.
