ACT I - Storm & Quen
Quen was wearing the same dress she'd worn for the auction, and for her auction date with Storm. She really needed another dress, but who had the time to go shopping or the money to spend on something like clothes? Still, she hadn't wanted to wear her scholar robes or any of the simple dresses she swept floors in.
It was an exciting night nonetheless. Quen adored music, and a showcase relied less on visual cues than a play, so she missed very little. The Kapur box was quite near the orchestra, so she could hear everything very well, and although she'd had to meet Storm's mother (awkward), she found Storm endlessly adorable.
They were nearing the end of the first act (she knew, because she had Storm read the program to her at the beginning of the show) when she heard the piano begin to play a light and beautiful tune. "What is this?" she whispered to Storm. She hadn't memorized the program, but she thought the piano solo was in the second act, which meant there was probably something else going on.
