They cut through the fleeing monsters as they neared the docks, searching the ships that were berthed there for one that looked sturdy enough to handle the raging sea. Once they found a likely vessel, Li directed the group aboard as Altair approached the captain.
He didn't waste any time trying to use his own powers of persuasion. He used Speechcraft immediately. "We need to get out there," he Persuaded the man. "Take us as close to the serpent as you can."
For one brief moment, it looked as though the captain wanted to object, but when he opened his mouth, he said only, "Okay," and set to work untying the ship from the pier.
Altair boarded the ship and joined the others on the deck. They would have a few precious minutes to regroup and prepare to engage with the beast. Altair checked the network and saw Riyeko's post to the Thieves Guild. "It's weak against Thunder," he reported to Audrey, Li, the blond girl and the white mage, "and immune to everything except Silence and Stop." He didn't know what sort of elemental capabilities or status effects the others had, but more information couldn't hurt.
Altair himself had very limited elemental capabilities, but he could try to silence the beast. Opening the chamber of his revolver, he loaded it with Silent Shot and then stood at the railing of the ship, waiting for the captain to bring them close enough to engage.
