Ari/Drake/Nate
Nate's warning reached him at the same time he saw the wave. Immediately, he looked for Ari and took off in the direction that she was in, taking as deep of a breath as possible before the water hit him diving into it. The water pulled him under, pulling him with the current.
He needed to go against it, though; he let his body relax until the current lessened a little and kicked straight up, breaking the surface and immediately searching for Ari. Fear gripped him when he couldn't see her and he took another breath and dove, opening his eyes and letting the salt sting them. He caught sight of her, went up for air again, dove, and started swimming towards her.
When he finally reached her, he wrapped his arms around her waist and kicked up. They broke the surface and he gasped in breath. "Hold on to me, honey," he told her, treading the water and looking for Nate. "We're just going to let the current carry us, okay? You're safe; you just need to hold on to me." Nate's head bobbed into sight and he called out to him. "Nate! Over here!"
Ari was shivering against him and he tried to hug her tighter while keeping them afloat. Nate reached them. "Don't get separated," he told Nate. "Grab my shirt. We need to get to shore, and the easiest thing will be to let this spit us out somewhere so we aren't fighting it." He didn't mention that Ari couldn't swim and that his main concern was getting her on land where she could stand as soon as possible.
The current was leading them to the shoreline. If they could just stay together until they got there, they'd be fine.
