Siana/Jareth/Maria/Cian/Carolina
Carolina felt her eyes widen as the enormous serpent came into view. This was assuredly not what she'd signed up for. Still, as she looked around, she saw that the entire district was still in chaos. Streets were flooded, people ran every which way brandishing swords and who knew what else, and Iron Crabs and Iguions still attacked anything in their way.
Cian had left them, and Carolina was not safe traveling with the Knights of the Peace, but at least the three of them were armored and sworn to protect the citizens of the city. She would not be safe anywhere else right now, either.
"Onward," she said softly to herself, resigned, "is the only way through this temporary mortal existence." Such was the nature of life that all things were temporary. Either she would survive this, or she wouldn't, and it was as it would be.
She didn't pray. The Occuria cared not for mortal concerns, and her small thoughts could do nothing divert the world from its path. Events would unfold as they would. Comfort was for the weak.
Another Iguion leaped out at her. She Paralyzed it, then slit its throat with her dagger. It fell to the ground without a sound, leaking an oily mucus. Carolina stepped over its corpse as she followed her group into the heart of the fray.
