She took Quenten's arm and nodded to Divina. "That," she replied dryly, knowing that Divina was stating the obvious, "is what we are endeavoring to do."
It would be easiest to go through the front, she knew; there would be less of a delay, and her priority had to be getting the young women she now perceived as in her care to safety. She knew that Quenten had been grievously injured during the last assault, and Juliette, though a year out, was a squire with no Knight. Allowing them to fight would be foolish of her.
"Divina," Genevieve said slowly, calculating. "Would you mind terribly escorting us back to the city proper? I am aware that you are needed here, and it is terribly selfish of me to ask, but I am left with little recourse."
