"A lecture," he said offhand as he upturned the powder into the mixture. Then he proceeded to watch as the side of the table it was on froze. "Containment is important," he noted, only to see his notes had been frozen over too. He just let out a sigh and tried to look through the layer of ice that now covered it. He'd have to hurry before it melted, so he bolted toward the nearest notepad and started over again.
"Do you think I should buy a recorder instead of scribbling things?" It did make filing easier, and maybe he could upload it to an external hard drive out of harm's way.
He was halfway through his scribblings when he rounded back toward the letter. "Lectures. Why would I want to do a lect--better focus maybe--a lecture." That was quickly followed by. "What would my lecture be on? Lectures. Sharing knowledge with the unwashed masses. I might need to buy a case of Genevieve's top shelf to get me through that."
