"No one's showed them to me and I haven't come across them in books, my travels, or my former KP position," he replied, annoyed. If he said he hadn't seen them, then he hadn't fucking seen them. Lashing out at her wouldn't do him any good, though; this was the case he needed, and playing nice would get him further.
He was about to ask her for a rundown on the case - a verbal one; case files could only tell him so much - when someone knocked and opened the door. "Sorry," the harried man said, nodding to them both. "There's been another murder."
The messenger - couldn't have been anything but, he thought with a sneer - relayed the information, but all Jareth had needed to hear was related to the other two. He looked at Banes, ready for orders.
