Quen sighed. "Fine," she said, and fished a few coins out of her pocket, offering it to Liyal. "Just get something you can share. I don't know why you don't just eat at the tower." Quen ate at the tower, because she preferred to spend her own money on bodice-rippers and candy.
Holding her book to her chest, she started walking. "So if you shot perfectly," she said, running into his arm on purpose, "How come you swore? When I do things perfectly, I tend to have a different reaction." She was teasing him, of course, and also making conversation. She felt some responsibility to do most of the talking when they were together.
