The first time Liyal had tried to help her out of a tree, Quen had told him, "You just wanted to touch my butt." After that, he let her climb out of her own trees. Quen dusted her hands off and straightened out her skirt. "Can you get my book for me?" she asked Liyal. She could crawl around and find it, but Liyal could see it, and he would pick it up for her.
Her communicator beeped again, and Quen pressed the button. "Guess so. Do you have 5 gil? Why does everyone here have to pay for fruit? Why not plant all fruit trees?" her communicator said.
"I don't know," Quen told Liyal, "except I don't think fruit grows as well here as it does farther south. We get pretty snowy winters." She poked him and added, "I get the same allowance as you. Probably less. Why don't you just see if you can get one of the vendors to give you free fruit? Use some of that charm of yours." She grinned.
