Her gamble, she thought as Aspel wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer - had paid off a great deal better than she had expected. When they broke for air, her own breathing was heavy and uneven, too, and she bit her lip to keep from blurting out something which could ruin the mood. Words, as she recalled, had not served her well the last time they had tried this. Perhaps this time, she would be better served keeping her words - and her invitations - to herself. Fortunately, as Aspel pulled her in for another kiss and her hand began meandering up Ari's thigh, it rather seemed as though at least part of the invitation had been understood - and accepted - without a single word being spoken.
Feeling braver now, her hands lifted from where they had been draped to run over and through Aspel's hair, which was getting quite mussed from the attention it was receiving, and then across her face, palms cupping her cheeks for a moment to reposition the angle of yet another kiss before her fingers skimmed down Aspel's neck, across her shoulders. The chair back meant she had no access to Aspel's back, at least for the moment, but the next time they broke for breath, Ari dipped her head so that she could place a series of kisses down the side of Aspel's neck, starting just beneath her earlobe and ending at the juncture of neck and shoulder, where she added the tiniest of bites. She thought again, fleetingly, of speaking, but chose to busy her mouth with Aspel's skin instead, her arms wrapping around the other woman's shoulders both for balance and out of a desire to hold on.
