WMDF/ELVINA/LICH.
Lex would've replied to the question, had she not been drenched in the heavy black substance flung at her as well. Her mage robes were ruined completely now, weighing her down, and without the strict military training and experience of the man beside her, it was all it took for her to struggle out them. Down to the drab linen tunic and slim trousers underneath, Lex kicked the robes aside and gave them no further amount of thought.
She was even less intimidating now, a fraction of the size of Rictor in his now-sullied armor, and her vulnerability to attack was made acute. Not that she was going to flee for cover and move from her position at Rictor's side, not when her attention was drawn to his sudden chanting. Her body language tensed visibly, for even under the thick Kerwon accent she could understand enough of what he was trying to do--magic was her territory after all, wasn't it?
Clenching her teeth, she bit back the need to chastise him.
Instead, Lex watched as he spilled his own blood for the sake of victory. She wasn't worried, no, she was absolutely furious at the reckless tactic, so what if it proved effective? As soon as Rictor began to sway, Lex already had her hand on his gauntlet, warring with herself not to immediately cast a cure spell. There was a brief, bitter realization at that point in the battle--that if she had more experience, if Lex was the Arithmetician she strove to one day become, she could've perhaps healed not only Rictor and herself, but many of the others as well. It was this knowledge that cut far worse than any of her current wounds.
Lex rubbed at her face with her sleeve, noting with ire that the oil must've somehow gotten into her eyes.
She took a breath of resolve and cast Holy again, the light of Faram enveloping the creature once more. The only way to solve this was to defeat the creature quickly, she decided, before anyone else went and tried something foolish.
Whatever she wanted to say then, the only phrase that escaped her mouth was the curt warning, "Keep away from any fire."
