Riyeko/Peony/Siana/Li/Carolina
Carolina's attention flickered to the other mage as she addressed her. Her attention had been so fixed on Li and on the enemies surrounding them, Carolina had scarce noticed the others they were now fighting alongside. Li seemed to know the other warrior, perhaps from his days in the EKP. The other two seemed equally as unfamiliar to Li as they were to her.
"I have no curative magicks," Carolina answered the other mage simply. Life Drain worked only to cure herself, and could not be used as an attack on the undead the way standard healing magicks could. Perhaps she ought to try to increase her repertoire of magic, if this sort of thing was going to continue to occur with any sort of regularity. For today's battle she was limited to the status effects she could already cast.
While she was momentarily distracted, one of the knights got close enough to attack. Li hurried to put himself between Carolina and the knight's sword, breaking his own sword and sustaining an injury in the process. Li had a greater ability to sustain damage and keep fighting, Carolina knew. If one of these knights got close enough to strike her, she would be of little use to anyone. Pragmatically, it made sense for Li to Cover for her. Still, she hated to see him hurt, and so she set to her own spells with renewed fervor, readying Slow once more.
Just then, she was hit with another Thunder spell, and she staggered, fighting to catch her breath once again. She didn't know what it was about status effects that drew fire so surely, and she fought the overpowering urge to run. She would not leave unless Li left at her side. Until then, she must remain, doing what she could to ensure that they were both still able to run when the opportunity presented itself. She was running low on mana, so she used Spell Absorb on one of the zombie mages, which replenished her own mana supply and rendered the other mage impotent. Feeling much stronger already in spite of her flagging health, she went back to her task of controlling the swarm to the best of her ability.
