Riyeko/Peony/Siana/Li/Carolina
Li and Carolina had been enjoying a quiet dinner, venturing out to a restaurant in the Commoner's District after Carolina was given the recommendation by one of her recruits. The food was worthy enough to plan a second visit, although the service was less than pleasant, most notably when the guests were kicked out of the place after harried news of commotion reached them. A disappointing end to their meal, as he had really wanted to finish that slice of cake.
They calmly strolled through the throngs of screaming masses, until they were no longer surrounding by harmless civilians trying to run away. It was then that Li noticed the undead soldiers making their way towards them. He was more familiar with the stench of rotting flesh than he preferred--they could be nothing else. And while he had never personally encountered them before, he knew well enough from stories and the advice told by his former Guard comrades that his Deathbringer wouldn't slay the undead. It'd only make them stronger.
Well. That would make things difficult. "Use fire spells if you know of any," he had told Carolina before he left her side, trusting that she'd stay out of danger and provide support as needed. As expected, every strike of his Deathbringer only seemed to disappear and leave the zombies stronger and faster than before. He changed tactics, focusing on one to disarm his sword and shield, gathering both and retreating from the horde.
"Here." He handed Carolina the shield and then took her by the elbow, leading their escape. The hunk of metal wouldn't do much protecting, and the sword was in even worse condition--but they'd have to do for now. They rounded a corner, stopping when Li spotted Riyeko and Siana, and another girl he vaguely recognized. "Move," he all but deadpanned, slicing through a zombie's arm with a Power Break.
