[Vivi/Altair/Merri/Open]
The Cure spell was unexpected but not unwanted, and with a sigh of relief he grinned at Vivi in thanks but knew there was no time to dawdle. His stance ready, he continued to shoot spells towards the advancing hoard of both undead knights and mages, enhancing Fire with Aero wherever he could. He had no time to ready Fira, after all, though his timing on it was getting better the few times the past month and a half he'd practiced it, but he couldn't leave himself, Altair, and Vivi vulnerable as he tried to cast it.
It occurred to him too late to use Enfire, when he saw the ghost go through Vivi and a zombie cut Altair's arm. Quickly, he cast Cure for Altair and knew that he had to use Esuna to help Vivi, but his first attempt failed, as did his second, and his third.
"No!" he hissed, and he felt a sword slash across his back and shouted in pain. He fell forward, just barely managing to turn in time to hit the walking corpse with yet another Fire spell, and then another and another until it burned away.
Merri climbed back to his feet and was horrified to see that that undead knight was not the only creature who had stumbled his way. He took a deep breath and tried his very best to ignore the burning pain on his back as he continued to cast more Fire spells, praying that Vivi would be fine until he could catch a breather from his attackers.
