"Nice to meet you, Lex," Drake replied, taking her hand. She was tiny, moreso than he had thought. Briefly, he wondered whether or not she had been apprenticed anywhere else or if she'd been with the church the entire time. Her frame suggested the latter, but he couldn't be sure.
"What was this morning's sermon about?" It wasn't just polite interest; it was hard to convey, but he liked the teachings of the church. He just wasn't fond of large groups of people dictating his life, which, sadly, seemed to be his experience with the religious set.
