She had already paid the advance the week prior, when they had met in passing to discuss the other project she thought she might have him attempt. And speaking of that, she added, "Once I've gotten acquainted with this, I'll be in touch about the other item I'm hoping to commission." With Vivi and Wilde recommending him, the work would be good - but one always made certain, of course. That was simply common sense.
She took her brown package and pulled her instrument case around her body to tuck it into one of the side pockets. It was already heavy, and this evening it would be a hassle to have both the mandolin and the violin - which she had left at the rehearsal hall for this outing - but it couldn't be helped. She couldn't cast with the violin, but she seemed to have promised too many things to too many people for this afternoon and evening. "Thank you, Nate," she said, her smile genuine.
