"The tale I heard was quite vague," Ari told her, with an ease that would hopefully translate as sincerity. "I hope it is at least a place to start? Elemental creatures that may fight alongside humes. The particular story I heard mentioned fire," she added after a moment of consideration. "But you know how bardic tales go, of course. They are sometimes based in truth, and sometimes not - and the facts become warped with each retelling. 'Standing as tall as a house and unleashing fire upon its foes,' often means simply taller than a hume - and 'fire' may well reference attacks of many sorts, especially if the story's been translated. It is fascinating to discover what truth, if any, is hidden behind the tale."
She peered across the table - the book would be about as comprehensible to her upside-down as right side-up. "I'm moderately good at language, and yet I'm still rather impressed that you can read that," she admitted. "I hope there is something I can do to assist the search? I don't want to sit uselessly by while you do all the work."
