Aspel Cassul: When in doubt, Aspel! (weaponry) wrote in emillion,
The offer would be noted, a low 'Mm' given in response to the bards assistance with a nod and the talking was... Oddly appreciated. As long as Ari didn't feel she was absolutely in need of commentary on her topics and it hardly seemed the other woman felt it required with how she carried on. Thankfully, Ari talking was easy and Aspel found herself strangely appreciative for just how much the other could carry on when left to her own devices. In its own way, it was a deeply touching response and action for Ari to handle the situation just as she had. Certainly, Aspel knew, that it would most likely seem like little to nothing to the other woman, but it was hard, a struggle for her, and the fact that the bard was willing to put up with the lot of the smiths problems meant more than she could ever put into words. Perhaps, if this night hadn't gone precisely the way it had, she may have even shed a tear or two. Yet, before she knew it, it was over and Ari was asking questions she had no option but to answer.
"If you would like." Came the simple response, as if she were honest, Aspel was not likely to want to eat another bite, or feel like she could, for some time yet. Standing and helping with lugging everything into the kitchen was easy, and nothing more than a quick rinsing of the plates would be given. An old habit to save from scrubbing or attracting any potential pests, not that it was likely, from years of practice. "Hm?" Was the initial retort to Ari's question before something between confusion and curiosity crossed her features. "Ah," The question fully being processed the smith finally shook her head. "I believe it would not do me well at this time of night." And the truth was, she was certain to have enough problems sleeping with all the stress going on about her, there was no reason to add more troubles to something such an issue already.
"If you would like more, you as welcome to such." A hand gestured leisurely at the kettle still on the stove and with all things put away, Aspel would glance back towards the living room, clearly something on her mind. After a moment had ticked by, the palms of her hands brushed against her pant legs and the smith ventured a look over to the other woman. "Would you like to begin reading that book this eve?" With the confirmation, Aspel would gesture for the other woman to take the lead back into the living room before fetching a book from under the coffee table that she had been working through, a glance taken between the love seat and the couch for a moment before, after a moment of consideration, the smith would reach out, gently grasping at the bards wrist. "Would you...." She would get the words out. "Like to take up on the couch? It is likely to be much more comfortable."
