Aspel Cassul: When in doubt, Aspel! (weaponry) wrote in emillion,
There was not much else Aspel could offer and it seemed that Ari had taken to the statement as well as anyone could wish really. "I am certain you will find some common ground." Whatever that common ground was though... Well, that would be a different matter entirely. If Ari's experience was anything like her own, the summon would be strong willed, assured and confident of their abilities, perhaps even, over confident. Yet, that was a fact that was yet to be entirely proven.
A slight smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "That shall teach you." Was the softly humorous and chiding comment. There was a level of care and tenderness in it though, which might almost seem as though Aspel was attempting to remind Ari, in some strangely indirect way, that she should take better care of herself. "Mm." A moment of consideration was taken for the statement, turning a few factors over in her head. "I find if you offer to pay enough, often, agreements can be reached that may not have been available before." It was... To some degree unfortunate how often money could be used to manipulate a situation, yet at the same time, she couldn't deny the benefits she had managed to reap from the concept at the same time. "Or if you reach out to friends in the area, surely, things can be arranged." It was a passive, and quite indirect off of how, perhaps, they should attempt to have dinner again some day. Surely, sharing two meals could not turn out disastrous for both. A few more containers would be opened and put out for them to pick at. Salad, a vinaigrette salad dressing, roast lamb, and a warm crusty bread with soft butter.
"Ah," Aspel paused, a slow nod then being given as she tore a piece of bread from the loaf and began to apply some of the butter. "I have, yes. but..." The bread was put on her plate, the butter knife hanging loosely in her grasp. "Not for some time." Shifting forward in her seat, the knife would be placed down and the gravy would be pulled forward, some of it being carefully spooned out over the vegetables. "To... A degree." Aspel shifted, sorting out food onto her plate in sections, somehow, it made sense that it shouldn't touch when initially being placed onto a plate, even if it would undoubtedly shift and move together shortly thereafter. "If when summoned in combat, yes. He quite strongly follows command. Listens when I demand he hush? Not quite as well." Pausing, she wet her lips. "He is a rather pushy sort when it comes to assuring his opinions are heard." Taking a moment, Aspel realized her plate was finally full and ready to eat from and her stomach turned. She was hungry but... How long had it been since she had shared food so privately with someone? ... This was going to be hard.
