Maria was a slow processor and her mind busied itself with far-reaching questions which had few clear answers when left to its own devices. Her thoughts were that he did not enjoy or appreciate these quandries. Perhaps, as she felt her musings strengthened her own connection to the divine, so he might find them distracting from the adrenaline that fueled him.
"Your suggestion is correct. Considering time and opportunity as a stasis is blasphemy." They had this perception of history flowing for a reason. To see beyond it was to consider one's own perception on the level of Faram. Her duty was to accept that this was not possible, not moral, and not conducive to a holy life. Perhaps what she was experiencing was struggles with her own morality and consciousness. It might be time to shift gears and understand how these questions could be answered within the scope of her own existence.
