Div/Siana.
Divina was not given to polite words or gestures. But there was something about the way the other woman held herself, dignified and composed. The fell knight was reminded of how efficiently Siana Banes had comported herself in battle, the surety with which she'd held her blade in her hands and her emotions in check. Perhaps it was that the other woman was a samurai like Divina's father. Or perhaps it was the knowledge that, like herself, Siana Banes faced little kindness from high society.
"Banes," Divina said. "I could say the same."
The conversation continued on with inquiries after the other's well-being in the wake of the terrors they'd faced together. Neither was the sort to dally with trifle. The conversation ended on the same cordial note on which it had begun.
However, even after the event had ended, the fell knight would find herself pondering the impression the samurai had left behind.
