Ari/Aspel - 2:30 AM
"It certainly must be," Ari mused. "I like heights, quite a lot. Lucy's partial to eighteenth century Valendian opera," she added, "just in case you weren't aware." They had discovered this the second time she had been brought to meet the dragon - the first time had not gone well - and ever since then, she and Lucy had been on quite good terms. "Kiernan's taken me up a few times, though never over the city. I'm sure the view at night would be particularly enjoyable." And so, she thought, would flying in the dark. Why hadn't she ever asked?
"Well then," Ari said at the next admission, "I would hate to assault your sensitive hearing with my inelegant plunking. I will save it until I have worked out how to make real music, and find other - more enjoyable - means of surprising you. I seem to have done better than expected so far," she mused, "so I'm certain I will miss eventually, but it will not be for lack of effort. I'll make sure not to abuse the knowledge if you're willing to tell me - and I'll even refrain from planning surprise parties, as I quite lost my taste for them several years ago."
