Ari/Aspel - 2:30 AM
The party did not seem to last long, but perhaps that was because she had arrived so very late to begin with. At least two hours after the festivities had begun altogether. Then, at least an hour of her time had been squirreled away with attention being paid so keenly to Ari and the scent upon her skin, the feeling of her fingers in Aspel's hair and the shock across her face when displayed with a new instrument. The decision and desire to give such a gift was far from selfless, especially after Ari had brought to her attention the Kerwonian song just days before. It had brought a mix of emotions yet, Aspel could not claim they were entirely unpleasant and the idea of having Ari, perhaps if she was lucky, recant such a performance on a proper instrument... Well, it would be lie to say it was anything other than deeply appealing.
Glances had been stolen across the room, Aspel quietly drinking and talking with others, easily mingling and attempting to slip by commentary with no more than a bit of a smile or a shrugging of shoulders. Secret, or perhaps, not so secret smiles being shared between the two when they managed to catch each others eyes.
Regardless, her insides still felt scrambled, well the feeling was warm and appealing, it also, when she was left alone without conversation long enough, managed to provoke a steady and rising fear within her. What had she done? Was she slipping? Would she spiral and lose control? But it was only... Just this one... Another gulp of mead and she would attempt to wash away the thoughts, the feelings, until near the end of the night where they had chosen to dance once again. Their movements seemed to fit better this time, and honestly, if it had not been for Ari finding Aspel and convincing her to come and populate the dance floor for the last call, the smith would have kept at the side lines, feeling she had, had far too much excitement for one evening already.
Yet instead, they danced.
The music appropriate for a Bolero came on and Aspel couldn't help the brief exclamation of a laugh that burst forth. Ari had looked back at her with that tell tale look, one both pleased and entertained, and of course, the smith had moved in to lead. The dance was slow, in comparison to some they had partaken earlier in the eve but it was fitting for a final call and left them in plenty of places where the space between their bodies would seem to vanish and fade.
And after all the worry that had pressed against her mind and heart earlier in the eve, while they danced once again, Aspel found, that perhaps, she didn't care.
