“I met her through—” Stone stopped right there, recognizing all at once that she was about to spill the beans about their sewer excursion. What a screw-up that would be! Aspel was the person she wanted to least of all to know about her occupation in the Thieves Guild. Truth be told, the thief didn’t like lying to the smith, but sometimes it couldn’t be avoided.
“It’s been a few months. I think she’s nice, I guess—not snooty like you’d think she’d be, but still has that upper-class elegance…” Stone decided to tease, “But I’m sure you know all about that, huh?”
