It was strange how quickly the day could change from moment to moment and second to second. Why she had insisted that he stop by for upkeep of that dastardly blade Aspel was still unsure of, or at least, she did not wish to admit to herself that somewhere, deep in her heart, she may still be fond of the foolish young man she had known so many years before. Regardless, what was done, was done and thankfully, it appeared her fine mead from Kerwon would be making an appearance today as well. For this, she was ultimately quite grateful. Maybe the world did not have it out for her quite as badly as she thought of late. Though, that blasted rumor mill that mulled about Emillion seemed to be nipping at her heels of late. It was a rather unfortunate bit of news considering how long she'd managed to avoid it. Thinking it through a bit, perhaps that was precisely why it had come knocking at her door. There was only so much one could avoid of anything before it came time to pay their dues. In a way, she could hardly be angry with the rumor, it was harmless enough and people would speculate on it as they chose. On the other hand, it was frustrating could two grown adults not have a meal together without tongues wagging? Certainly, this must be part if Vivi's endless frustration. Later, Aspel may need to inquire just how the other woman did it. This was but one of the many reasons why Aspel did not bother openly advertising her own status. It would just induce far too many headaches. However, speaking of knocks, and fluttering thoughts of visits and friends, it would seem the time had come for her own visitor as the door swung open, gently rocking the bell that stayed above the door to alert her to customers. |
