audrey/juliette vs. rafflesia, malboro, air elemental (OOPS)
Audrey had rolled opposite of Juliette, hiding herself behind a crate. Pulling her scarf up, she knew it would do little to filter the toxic fumes. Reaching for her pouch, she realized she was missing some her potions, not having predicted another fucking monster attack. Unable to see her, she shouted out her name in hopes of getting a response. Picking up a nearby rock she threw it at the Malboro, hoping to distract attention from her kid sister.
Alys had been right about one thing -- with a rafflesia on one side and a malboro on the other, they were indeed caught in a pincer now, and the only possible way out was up. The civilians that the young monk had stopped to help were finally gone from the area -- in any case, she saw no more cowering or running figures -- but as for the two of them, they seemed to have very little option aside from collaborating to clear a path.
So when the malboro turned to focus its attention on the ninja, Juliette sent another aura bolt its way, causing it to stagger.
Unfortunately, that left her open for the rafflesia to slam into her side, sending her staggering. Before she could right herself, she felt something heavy and painful settle over her, and a moment of panic was all it took before she realized that she had been poisoned, or something very like it.
They weren’t going to leave this alley if they tried to defeat both of them. With more shuriken in hand she had thrown it towards the back of the Rafflesia. The other hand had shot the opposite way, aiming at the myriad of eyes surrounding that giant mouth. Rushing forth, she once again jumped atop the Rafflesia, jumping forth and grabbing her sister’s arm. “Up,” she shouted, “we climb up!”
Hoping to make the trek to the roof easier for her sister, she went ahead scoping out the easier things to jump on and grab. Atop a couple of boxes, she was able to reach a window ledge and lift herself up to reach for the window ledge above that. Audrey continued until reaching the top, swinging her arm down so Juliette could grab and Audrey could hoist her up.
It was hard to climb with her vision blurring and her limbs heavy and aching, but harder still to require help from Alys. There had only been one brief moment to consider going another way, however -- the civilians were gone, and there was no other way. So climb Juliette did.
She'd never climbed a wall, but not so long ago, she'd climbed her first tree, and her arm muscles didn't fail her though she felt ill and heavy. All of her training had paid off --
The thought was cut off as her foot slipped, but Alys caught her arm -- why? -- and hauled her up to the roof of the building, which was fortunately only one story.
Panting and dizzy, Juliette weakly raid one hand, willed her too-thick tongue to obey her incantation. Cure came, but the momentary relief was swallowed again by the poison. She didn't know any spells that could help...
Just as she thought this, a spell hit her from above, causing her to cry out. Though he vision was blurring even more than before, she could make out something glowing bobbing in her direction. An elemental had seemingly been roaming the rooftop, and with her attempt at healing, she had angered it.
