audrey/juliette vs. rafflesia, malboro, air elemental (OOPS)
Today she seemed to have simply been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Monsters had sprung up out of nowhere and while she knew she could make her way through the street, Audrey had chosen the safety of the rooftops. Her body was still far too weak for her liking. Most of her muscle had eroded away, leaving her gaunt and skinny. She found herself more and more tired her usual activities, so by the time she had made it to the rooftops, the blonde was out of breath. Taking a minute for a breather, she continued across the theater district, sight specifically focused on the ground scanning for any familiar faces who might need an extra hand.
It hadn’t been until she heard a familiar voice—a shout in the distance. Leaving her route, she followed the source of the voice, until she looked down. The sight of her bruised sister caused her stomach to churn, as her eyes widened. Dropping from the roof, her foot kicked in the Rafflessia momentarily distracting it while her arm reached and grabbed her sister’s wrist. “Let’s go,” she spat, attempting to drag her out of the alley and away from the theater district.
“Let’s -- what?”
It was easier than Juliette had expected it to be to wrench her hand away -- where her sister looked gaunt and weak, Juliette had grown stronger. Though that strength did not give her any idea of what she ought to say in this situation.
The beast shook itself, as though mildly annoyed by the kick at best. The young man with the very large instrument case who had been cornered by it was scampering away down the alley, so that was all right, but there were others still trying to clear out of the area and -- “I’m not going any --”
Apparently finished being annoyed and back to being bent on violence, the giant plant lashed out, and it was all Juliette could do to block the blow (she felt the impact up her arm) and return it in kind. Her flurry of subsequent punches did little, but it did push the plant back so she could finish with a pant, “-- where with you, I’m going to help these people.”
“You’re hurt, look at yourself,” she tried to argue, but before she could do anything more she felt as though she saw a light from the corner of her eyes. Almost instinctual, she whipped out some of her shuriken, flinging it at the corner of her eye where a Malboro had been summoned. “We’ll get cornered in here, let’s go,” she reached for her wrist yet again to try and get the younger girl to budge.
Juliette was aware that she’s gotten her share of bruises in the last half hour, but of all people who could convince her to leave the fray, her sister was at or near the bottom of the list. “No,” she said without turning, trying to not talk through gritted teeth as she considered what in the world she could do against a malboro. “If you want to go, go.”
And that seemed to be the only conversation she’d be engaging in for awhile, for the malboro took a deep breath, and it was all Juliette could do to duck and roll out of the way of the toxic cocktail of status effects the green monster released with its putrid breath (she wanted to pretend she didn’t care whether Alys had been hit, but the truth was, even as she stood and shot an aura bolt at the beast, her eyes were searching for a figure on the ground, hoping not to see one).
