Bad news? Emily's face immediately showed concern and worry creased her brow. She could hear the footsteps of the steward step closer and the unspoken question as to whether or not he should stay asked. She nodded slowly, "Yes, of course. Please, follow me." There was a hesitation before she started walking, a brief glance at the knight showing a hint of curiosity, but it was gone as she no longer faced him and guided him down the hallway to another room. The sun room, positioned specifically to catch as much of the sunlight now had artificial light beaming from lamps and gave it an ambient glow.
Emily's fingers fidgeted before her as she came to face him again, "Should I sit down? Or would this be news I might take better standing? It is not about Cormac, is it? Oh, please, not him." There was a hint of truth in her voice, because if anything did happen to Cormac she would react, but at least she'd get some sort of warning so she'd know how to hide her feelings. Because if anything happened to Cormac, there'd be hell to pay and Emily would do everything in her power to crush them beneath her heel.
It didn't occur to her that her parents might be the reason for the knight's visit, or more specifically her father. "Forgive me," she said looking flustered, "I—I am anxious and I should let you speak." She nodded, seeming more for herself than for him and then decided that she would sit down, and so she did in a graceful motion.
