There seems to be a bit of a tizzy going about downtown as a man comes racing into a bar. He seems half crazed and is trying to bark out words between gasping for air and sucking in gulps of breath. The scene obviously gathers are a small crowd of interested on lookers, wondering what could have worked someone into such a state. Finally, after several minutes he manages to be calm enough that he was exploring up in the woods and stumbled upon what appeared to be a horde of fire based creatures migrating. Thankfully, he was able to stay far enough back and track them to the entrance of a cave. Upon finding himself looking upon the cave monsters seemed to rise up from every crack, crevasse and shadow, making their way towards the dark opening in the mountain's exterior. It was almost as if some siren's song had drawn the monsters in hordes from far and wide, lulling them to this singular location. Before the man had time to think, to consider exploring further, a booming roar ripped through the air, echoing from deep within the cave as flames seemed to lick the air, hazing vision and warping perception. If that hadn't been enough to send him running off glowing red embers of eyes had finalized the trick before another booming roar shot out of the cave once again with flames flickering around feet and wrists, leaving shadows thrown across the far wall, displaying a monstrous beast standing three times the size of a man. The story leaves those around the pub who had bothered to listen in a mix of emotions. Some seem to dismiss the notions, finding this nothing more than the story of a madman, someone who's spent far too much time outside, baking in the sun's rays. Others seem wary of the story, unsure of how to next act. However, one man in the crowd does step forward, putting down a heavy fist on the table nearest to the still recovering messenger. This man is well dressed, apparently upper class of some form and clearing his throat while adjusting his cufflinks he begins to speak. "If there is a fire beast amongst our lands, it must be dealt with swiftly before it brings harm to the forest or the people. Anyone who can bring me proof of this beast, alive or dead, will be rewarded handsomely." |
