"Thank you! That's thoughtful." The offering of food was answered with a grin, though Cyrus was mindful to wait his turn until at least the women in the group had taken their share.
(The stern one who had threatened him for that mess in the hallway in particular; he far preferred staying out of her way to keep the peace in the group if for no other reason.)
He was still smiling as he said, "Well, it's a good day for a hike. Since we're all here, I guess it's time to get started?" Not that he was accustomed to groups this size, but he'd done a bit of field work with others, too.
