Drake & Saeed
Saeed never saw an ocean until he came to Emillion and had one within a reasonable traveling distance, and he didn't go often. That was a pity, considering how much he enjoyed it. The calm rolling of the waves onto the sand, the sun beaming down from above, and the refreshing scent. Though he was happy he didn't come often, because it mean he could appreciate the beach more that way. He walked along the beach, letting the water rush over his feet before he glanced away from the water to see a friend of his there.
"Drake," he called and walked toward the monk, closing the distance between them, "good to that council members can take days off to come to the beach." He offered a hand in a way of greeting.
He’d missed the beach day last year - silly women threatening to knock him unconscious over a simple injury, honestly - and he was determined to enjoy it. Strolling along the sand and watching people running around, laughing, was good. The only time he really saw people running these days was away from something; a bit of levity could do wonders for the overall morale of Emillion, and he had to say that the new Sage’s insistence that they continue this tradition despite the general mistrust of the Mages’ Guild had been a good idea.
Saeed’s greeting brought a grin to Drake’s face when he saw the other man, and he meandered over to him. “Haven’t seen you around much,” he said, plopping down on the sand. This was as good a spot as any, and it was true - he hadn’t seen much of the other man since he’d gotten back to Emillion. Between work and trying to navigate his relationships (not that they were really relationships, of course), he hadn’t had much time to just wander around. “And Duhl lets us out on occasion. Good behavior.”
