James/Emily/Cian [aka Gambit :P] v. Bandercoeurl
James just registered the other man entering the fight, and shifted his position such that they were flanking the beast. Of course, he wanted to keep most of the thing's attention - if the guy was a ranged fighter as his attack with the card indicated, he wouldn't do well if the Bandercoeurl turned its attention on him. James simply nodded his agreement to Cian's statement. No time for chitchat when claws and teeth were threatening.
And then there was the second addition to their makeshift team. James didn't know much about magic, except that it could heal or hurt, but could tell she had cast something on him. Since it didn't hurt (and that would be counterproductive, anyway), he had to assume it helped. Unfortunately, not enough.
The Bandercoeurl had no intention to mess around. So, although Cian was the only one to have injured it thus far, it cast Thundaga on James. That was not exactly expected, at least not by the Ranger, so when his world was suddenly consumed by pain, bright light, and burning, it was a bit startling. Somewhat dazed, he staggered on his feet, but didn't go down. In fact, with a shake of his head, he launched himself at the thing's side with three successive strikes. It was all instinct and bloodlust, no finesse this time. Not when he was still seeing stars.
