"You won last time," Cyrus said with a laugh. "My turn to return the favor -- and the beating." He took one last swig from his tankard, which was already empty. "I'll just keep it to the one tonight to make sure I don't sabotage my own plans."
He set down the empty tankard and added, "Just planning to wander a bit more tonight. Apparently there's going to be fireworks." And while James was probably not interested, to Cyrus, the idea was pretty fascinating. He'd never actually been in any town large enough on any festival day major enough to see any before -- really, could he be blamed for being curious? "I think I'll head out and find a vantage point after this. A tree, maybe."
