Cyrus would have preferred to leave the topic be, but of course James seemed not to be like-minded. Really, he probably ought to have expected this. He considered a moment before trying to explain: "If I'm going to....... spend time with a woman," good enough phrasing in his book, "I guess I'd prefer if it's because she's... I don't know, wanting to spend time with me." He'd been called an idiot romantic by Cas more than once over this, but the idea of buying company just didn't sit right with him. He had enough problems without wondering just how badly he was irritating a professional (too skilled to show her irritation, no doubt) with his bumbling.
"Anyway," he added, "it's probably just personal preference. But I think I'd rather spar." A safer topic all around. "Tomorrow, maybe?" He wasn't the sort to take weekends off when he could help it. "It's usually pretty deserted until nine or so on Saturdays. I get started around six, so meet me as early as you like. Just don't drink too much tonight," he added with a bit of a smile, "or I'll make you pay for it in the morning."
