With Ari gone for the next few weeks, she could already feel Emillion becoming duller. It was more and more difficult remaining as prim and proper Mrs. Norwood without a friend to calm the stress (especially now with the added voice in her head). She needed some stress relief and (unfortunately) she found much solace in alcohol. She had hit up a bar, an old favorite, wrapped up in clothing to conceal her identity as Mrs. Norwood. It wouldn't do the rumors any good, though she figured a lot of the commoners here couldn't even place a name with a face. Still, she kept her cowl wrapped around as a precaution.
Then came the urge to use the ladies' room. Putting her coaster on her glass, she scooted out of her chair and headed in the direction. It had been what she saw next that had her frozen, mouth gaping.
He wasn’t expecting to run into this girl again, but when he did, Darius certainly couldn’t say it was an unpleasant surprise. So, he’d struck up a conversation with the girl with… Red…? Blonde…? Well, whatever color hair it was, it was pretty on her. She was really friendly too, which made things that much easier, and it was hilarious how simple a person could get by without names when it really came down to it. Though… He still felt horrible that he hadn’t gotten this chick’s name after banging her twice already.
He’d get her name tonight, he was determined to do it… Or at least he’d try like hell. Either way, she was pretty good company, and Darius had decided he didn’t mind drinking with her one bit, even if she was a fighter… Or at least, she sure seemed like one still from everything he could tell.
“So, have any big plans for tonight?” He couldn’t help the grin that grew when he asked, something a little playful, mischievous even, hinting in his eyes with the question that might otherwise be considered simple chatter to the idle passerby.
Eden was clearly enjoying herself. She hadn’t said or hinted at anything they’d done before, but actually struck up a really nice conversation. Darius was fun and so pretty. His eyes were just gorgeous and she remembered the rest of him quite clearly as well. She could see drinking with him to be a regular thing, whenever she was in town. She found the thought to be pleasing.
Then he asked her what she was doing later, and gave her that smile. That smile made a warm tingle bloom between her legs. “Not unless you’ve made them for me.” Glass lifted to her lips, she took a sip giving him a look over the rim.
Friends, she thought. They were probably just friends. She couldn't tell who the blonde was, not by the way they were positioned. Rather than focusing on it too much, she walked past them and made her way to the ladies room trying anything but to think about them. Friends go out a drink, she did it all the time. She couldn't stop the pit in her stomach fall as she washed her hands. It's fine, Aud. Just leave. You shouldn't even be here.
She had tried to avoid going anywhere near them, but as she tried to move past them two bar goers had begun threateningly pushing one another. Unfortunately, she was caught behind one of them sending her stumbling into both Eden and Darius.
“Well.” His grin grew a little with what could be perceived as an open invitation. A cock of his head off to one side. “I’m sure I could schedule you in for an appointment. Can never be too careful with your health.” His own glass rested on the bar, his hand partly wrapped around the bottom. However, that would only prove a greater problem as Audrey came crashing into them causing Darius to jerk off to one side, and send the contents of his glass spilling over himself, and the bar.
“What the fu-” Darius began to angrily growl as he turned to look at who had smashed into them, and when he realized precisely what was going on the sentence fell short. Fuck all.
Eden was about to slip her leg shamelessly into Darius’ lap when the woman stumbled into them and knocked Darius drink all over him. She herself found hers all over her dress. The fabric was slowly becoming transparent as it spread. On the one hand, she really loved this dress. On the other hand, it was an excuse to make up on that appointment offer. But before that, she wanted to check up on what was happening.
The girl didn’t look like she was in a fight with anyone. Eden moved a hand out to steady her then looked over at Darius. “You’re all wet,” she said taking her small napkin and attempting to sop up the water. She patted down his chest and around his lap. Apparently, stumbling women weren’t considered a block to her. It was a bar. Drunk people fell over all the time!
She had made eye contact with Darius, unable to break away her stare until Eden touched her. In a sudden shock, she had looked over at the blonde, hoping she couldn’t recognize her (or even remember her for that matter). “I’m sorry,” she finally spoke, shaking her head. “I’m so sorry.” Ari’s words rung through her head, and the urge to flee couldn’t be contained. “I gotta go. I—” Audrey had turned from them, rushing herself to the bar to pay her fee and leave.
“Uh,” Darius was ever elegant in his attempts to speak as the woman he was having drinks with attempted to help clean him up, and Audrey moved to sprint for the door. A few nonsensical sounds were stuck in his throat as his jaw worked, trying to figure out what to do, and who to address. However, it would seem like both of the women here had chosen for him as Audrey disengaged, and the other blonde engaged him.
“Yeah.” A beat as his hands shifted, being held out to his sides as he looked down at his partly wine covered self. “Yeah, I’m alright.” A slight - restrained and unsure - smile was offered to the woman patting him down. “I’m good. You alright?” His brow furrowed. “Your dress though, you gonna be okay?”
“Oh, yeah,” Eden said with a smile. She hadn’t completely missed the fact that Darius seemed a little unsettled by the incident. “You wanna get out of here?” It was a little sooner than planned but the drink shower fairy had just gifted them with an excuse.
Don’t look back became her mantra, tipping the bartender and turning towards the door. It wasn’t until she reached the threshold of the doorway that she hard that tiny voice in the back of her mind peep up. Despite everything she tried, the voice sunk its teeth in forcing her head to turn in the direction of Eden and Darius. They were talking and they were smiling. Suddenly she felt out of place and the urge to disappear had never felt stronger. With one final step out the door, Audrey vanished into the night.
