Moving closer to the other mages, once Lex had begun to make out the dark scatter of figures around them, her instincts had lead her quickly nearer to Lionel. Her gaze too remained stuck on the horror and strangeness of the bodies strewn about the ruins, and the wariness that had begun to build quickly roused itself into a greater and more urgent sense of concern.
Lex did as the leader of the party commanded, and by the Feldwebel's word, she reached for her measure. She gave the other female mage a nod of assent and worked diligently on calculating her first algorithm. With a familiar chant to summon the white magics at her disposal, a gentle force wove itself around the members of the group to offer the protection of Wall.
"What might have done this, I wonder?" A solemn question posed to those nearest before the mage worked to cast further magic.
