Brief moment of panic aside, Violet turned and surveyed the group, eyes narrowed in what was almost certainly barely-veiled annoyance. If she were being utterly honest with herself, she would admit that she felt out of her element. This forlorn waste of an area, with the wind whipping them about, the heavy Mists, and a team of people she wasn't well acquainted with, this was all a recipe for disaster. And, of course, if things went sour, it would all fall on her shoulders.
"Of course," she said to Lionel, brow raised and intimidating glance resting on him for just a moment. She didn't crack a smile at him. There wouldn't be anything to smile about until they'd fetched what they'd come for and got out of this place in one piece.
"This way," Violet instructed, nodding in the direction of what looked like a path. The visibility ahead was poor, but what Violet could see was that the steps grew more defined, less jagged rock that jutted out of the side of a mountain and more square stone that seemed to lead a way. She took a step forward and let her hand rest on the hilt of her katana, ready for attack but not overly tense, not yet, anyway.
