She thought, again, that it really appeared as though the man was watching Aspel. At least, by the way the other woman had bristled, she knew to be wary of him, so it was not as if his behavior, even if hostile, would take her entirely by surprise. She didn't think their interactions on the network had anything to do with it; many people interacted on the network. And the only way he would have noticed was, again, if he were watching one of them, and again, it seemed to be Aspel.
"I still strongly disagree with your assessment of my behavior," she said, taking pains to keep her tone mild. "Not that you care, so never mind." At least it couldn't be construed as a question. "Why do you watch her?" He could feel free to go back to the original list, but she found she wouldn't mind an answer to this question, either, even if it likely wouldn't be as illuminating as the others.
