Infinitea was one of many drink stalls in the Tenement District; people often dawdled at their low-set tables and seats, partaking in idle conversation or a break from busy days. This particular tea house earned Li's regular patronage because it was near his apartment, and it offered drinks that were cheap enough that it hardly mattered whether he bought it here or brewed it himself at home. Li took his time getting there--although Ari said she would be there in thirty minutes, it had never been a time frame for him.
Arriving about ten minutes after she had, he took the seat across from hers. Though a greeting would be appropriate here, he didn't bother, and instead beckoned the barista over to request some sweetened condensed milk or honey. "How long has the tea been here?" He eventually asked, turning his attention back to Ari. The girl was far more antsy than he had anticipated, and wondered if she'd immediately resume her barrage of questions or put up the pretense of exchanging pleasantries.
