There wasn’t anything he could do. Darius kept telling himself that as he caught Theo going up against Vivian. He had his own fight, he had to assure he didn’t die, with the few meager attacks he could throw up against the Earth Elemental he’d engaged. Fuck. How he regretted not having more offensive abilities at his command in instances like this, but he’d managed to keep himself alive so far, and damn it, he wasn’t about to die today. Then Vivian took her final blow, and Darius’ eyes went wide as Theo dropped to the ground. “No!” With that, Darius finally gave into his urge to run past the elemental he fought, incurring a blow from the beast as he sprinted past. An outcry of pain was earned, and he stumbled forward, not falling, but ran forward, trying to jump over any sections of broken earth in his way, a spell already being summoned to his finger tips, and praying that maybe, just maybe he’d be lucky, that he wouldn’t be too late, that he could save Theo. The guy might be a dick, but Theo was still his brother, regardless of everything that had happened between them. “You’re not dying on me, asshole!” And with that Curaga was cast on the man fallen before him. Theo was drawn back from the brink. Death, it seemed, would not have him today as slowly he began to stir once again. Still crumpled to the ground, his body a wreck, Theo felt once again the surging pain in his limbs. The Curaga did its work to ease the severity of his near-death wounds, but it would take more than that to see him on his feet once again. The berserker tried to ease himself onto his back so that he could at least look around him. It was not a very successful attempt, however, and he stalled halfway, giving Darius a weak form of his usual scowl. Even so, he was glad to see his brother. “Fuck has happened,” he tried to say, coughing out the syllables. “Where?” Where was the Sage? “You got torched, now stay the fuck down.” Darius’ eyes had gone hard, he wasn’t about to put up with any of this bullshit. “If you wanna fight,” His eyes darted across the field because fuck all he was going to need Theo to fight, and soon. “You gotta let me check you out.” Dropping down into a kneeled position, fingers moved down, trying to grab and push at his brother on the ground, trying to check what kind of damage had happened. He didn’t need to heal a broken bone wrong if it could be set right now. Throwing Wall up on the both, and finally being satisfied with Theo’s condition from - it was quick, quicker than most would expect, Darius had become quite skilled in field assessment over the past year - another Curaga was administered. “Now common, let’s kick some ass.” Standing, Darius shifted, offering a hand down to help Theo up. |
