Hashmal/Kiernan/Lavitz/Loch
This time, when Kiernan landed, he was able to do so on both feet, thankfully, but the impact of spear to flesh did nothing, and the pain in his shoulder was searing. If he wasn't careful, he might not ever be able to use it again.
And if that happened, his dragooning days, and his Dragon Rider days, would be quickly over. Kiernan knew he had to take it easy, but he also knew that this was not a danger that would not easily pass. He couldn't be selfish. Because if this beast wasn't defeated, there wouldn't much of anything left to defend (nor would he be able to look himself in the mirror).
Kiernan glanced over at his companions, happy to see that Lavitz, at least, was still mostly okay and casting spells that seemed to help. He heard his friend's advice, and he knew his next course of action. Maybe he didn't need to give each Jump his all; maybe it was enough to distract the creature for long enough for Lavitz to see it dead. He glanced up at Lucy, who seemed to understand the tactic and kept on breathing fire and had started taking to whacking the beast with her claws, too. This was happening.
To the woman, he asked, "Down with that?"
Then the next quake came. Kiernan nearly lost his balance, but gritting his teeth, he did his best to steady himself so that he could Jump once more. He had no time, no inclination to prepare himself for a stronger attack. He trusted Lavitz's tactic to work.
So, once more, he leaped up to drive his spear into the the ugly ass monster's stupid skull.
