Merri/Kiyoko/Siri
The embrace surprised Merri, but he didn't take long to recover and reciprocate, squeezing Ran gently as he let out a relieved sigh, "Thank Faram you're all right."
When she pulled back, his smile was warm, and he glanced over at Siri. "And it's thanks to her, too."
His eyes soon turned troubled as he scanned the immediate area. The sounds of battle elsewhere in the district had not yet dimmed, and there were still some civilians in flight from whatever creatures may still be out there. From Drake's message earlier, there was a good chance that this was something that was more widespread than it had been in months, and the city was not prepared for it.
"It's not over yet," he bemoaned, looking back at Ran. He still held her, and he pleaded, "Please, get to safety. I could never live with myself if you got hurt, and I... I need to..." Do something. Anything. "There are more people who need help, and I need to do what I can to... help them. Protect them. So, please..."
Merri kissed her forehead. "Be safe."
A few more words were exchanged between them before Ran took off, hopefully in the direction of sanctuary, and Merri turned to Siri, his voice still shaky. "Are you okay, Siri? Can you help, or...?"
